Raising Hell, The new book by Julie Ferwerda

Have you ever been lied to?  Sure you have…

I am not talking about a little white lie where no one gets hurt.

The lie that I am referring to has been so persistent and so widespread that it somehow became the truth to most Christians. In Christianity, the orthodox position is what the majority believes. The orthodox Christian views of today are radically different from the views of the Christians in the first two hundred years after Christ. Let us look at a few facts:

1. The early Greek speaking church fathers all believed that all of God’s creation would be eventually restored. This belief is now known as Universal Restoration and it was orthodox at that time.

2. The early church fathers spoke Greek and knew that aion (noun) and aionios (adjective) did not and could not mean forever, forever and ever or eternal. Those words referred to an age or a period of time that had a beginning and an end.

3. The early church fathers knew that gehenna in the Greek referred to the physical place just outside of Jerusalem where the ancient Hebrews sacrificed their own children by burning them to death to the god molech. The same place was later used to burn the city’s trash and to dispose of the bodies of criminals who did not deserve or could not afford a proper burial. You guessed it; this is where worms that don’t die and a fire that is never quenched come from.

4. The concept of a Hell where God punishes sinners for eternity in a torture chamber of fire comes from paganism – ancient Egypt. Hell was used by Augustine and others to scare believers into submission. It has always been about power and money. Look at the churches of today…power and money - nothing has changed. The lie continues and it is orthodox…the lie has been the truth to the masses ever since Augustine and Constantine.

The real truth has been with us from the beginning. Paul brought an evangel (Greek: well message) that he called his evangel. The truth has been with us but not many can see it or understand it. They have been blinded by the god of this world. Scripture says that you cannot believe on your own, you must be drawn or dragged by God or the Holy Spirit.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)

1 Corinthians 12:3b … that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. (KJV)

It is my belief that most Christians are blinded to the truth just like the Pharisees of Christ’s day were. The fact is, there have always been those who received the well message and understood it. There are believers today who reject the false message of an eternal hell – which is of course, orthodox.

The new book by Julie Ferwerda called Raising Hell is the latest book on the subject that lays out the facts for anyone who is drawn by the Spirit to receive it. Julie does an incredible job explaining the facts. Here are some of the topics discussed in the book:

·         Questioning Hell
·         When Hell became gospel truth
·         Satan wins, God loses?
·         Love never fails
·         Hebrew perspectives on scriptures
·         Tracing gospel history
·         Eternity vs. Ages
·         The great harvests
·         Lazarus and the rich man
·         Simple steps for identifying mistranslations

Julie's book is easy to read, easy to understand and it lays out the truth from cover to cover. It is more than deserving of several hours of your time. Julie, like me, was raised in orthodoxy and has been led to the truth. Most Christians are victims of a terrible misinformation campaign – Raising Hell will open the eyes of any Christian who will pray to God for the truth and earnestly study to show themselves approved.

  1. Isn't it weird when you post something so controversial and the crowds are silent? Happens a lot on my blog too. :)

  2. Thanks for your post on this topic. Once our hearts have been opened to this truth, it is hard to imagine ever having believed that a loving Creator and Father could deem it necessary to punish those of His own Creation via eternal torment. It goes against all that He is. The concept of hell contradicts our belief that He is omnipotent, omniscient, loving, merciful. It also denies that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was complete and for all. Fortunately, our Father's plan to bring his entire Creation to a full recognition of Him in due time does not depend on frail human faith. He will achieve exactly what He has set out to do. Thank you for your work on this blog. Please keep it up!
