Saved

Have you ever wondered if you were really saved? Who at one point or another has not been discouraged, confused or disillusioned with themselves and their life. In addition to the thoughts that run through our minds we sometimes hear a sermon or read a tract that indicates we have to do something to be saved. The things that we should do (or not do) are numerous. Lets see what the scriptures say.

The scriptures always provide the answer, they alone are our guide in this present administration. Contrary to some beliefs, we do not have present day prophets. Our guidance and truth is in God's written Word. God sent Paul to be the apostle to the nations. If you are a gentile (non-Hebrew), Paul wrote to you.

Romans 10:9 that if with your mouth you confess Jesus as Lord and in your heart believe that God brought Him back to life, you shall be saved. (WNT) The scripture does not say confess to someone nor does it say you have to tithe or go to church. You being saved was accomplished for you. It is not something you do for yourself!

Romans 10:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (ASV) Friends, you can not call upon the Lord by yourself! 1 Corinthians 12:3b ...no man can say, Jesus is Lord, but in the Holy Spirit. (ASV)

Just so you know beyond a shadow of any doubt that you being saved is not of your doing; Here are two more scriptures: Phillipians 2:13 for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure. (ASV)

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV)

By grace are you saved through the faith of Christ. I was not of your doing. It was given as a free gift. You cannot earn it!

So here is the question. Erase any doubt. Have you confessed Jesus as your Lord? Do you believe that he was crucified, was dead, was buried and raised on the third day? Do you believe that? Yes, rejoice! You are saved nothing or no one can take it from you, ever! It is permanent.

Grace be with you!
